Henery Mackeson and the Eyefull Tower
Henery Mackeson met Barry Brickell in a Whangārei kiln shed, two self-taught tradesmen who agreed on one thing: straight lines make sick buildings. Years later, Henery helped Barry design the Eyefull Tower, wrapping it in a ramp that braces the structure and doubles as an emergency exit.
Henery has never called himself an architect. He builds from instinct, trusts a good engineer to check his work, and still lives in an earth house today, teaching earth building to anyone willing to learn. Proof that Driving Creek was built by pioneers who simply got on with it.
