Keeping the Coromandel Beaches Beautiful for Future Generations – Waikato Coastcare

Care for Your Coast?

This winter, Coastcare groups around the Coromandel are rolling up their sleeves to plant thousands of native coastal plants and they need your help!

Restoring our dunes and protecting our native wildlife and coastal habitats takes all sorts of mahi. There are plenty of ways to take part, from planting and pest management to community education and advocacy, or helping run and publicise events.

If you want to give back to your coastal environment, email us or follow Coastcare Waikato on social media to find out when the next event is happening near you.

You’ll be helping to build resilience against coastal erosion and keep our beaches beautiful for future generations.

Here are some ways to get involved with your local Coastcare crew and help protect the beaches we love:

  • Pro Planter
  • Community Connector
  • Workforce Refueler
  • Social Media Guru
  • Seed Collector
  • Coastal Gardener
