Whangamata Summer Festival

Get Ready for Two Days of Music, Markets, and Family Fun!

The Whangamata Summer Festival Committee is thrilled to announce the line-up of this year’s eagerly anticipated festival events, taking place just after Christmas. According to Renee Meiklejohn, the Festival Coordinator, the dedicated Festival Committee has been hard at work preparing an incredible program with a lineup of high-caliber musical talent. This year’s performers include SARAH SPICER & THE BLUE RIDERS, JOYDAH MAE, CORAL, PACK ANIMALS, GEMMA LOUDEN, LOUIE CAMPBELL, DAVE MARKS, DAN MARKS, DONNY ALLAN, HANNO, and MALAKIWI.

The festival will also feature The Magic Man with performances on the Lake Field Stage each day, alongside Roving Street Performers from Hamilton’s Free Lunch Street Theatre. For updates on the set times, keep an eye on the Festival’s Facebook page as the dates approach.

The festivities kick off with the Twilight Market on December 27th from 2pm to 8pm, followed by the Annual Craft Market on December 28th from 9am to 3pm.

A Festival Market Like No Other

With a vast selection of stalls, the Festival Market offers an impressive variety of goods, including clothing, hats, jewelry, photography, pottery, sunglasses, shoes, knives, tools, arts & crafts, and food stalls. There’s also a selection of plants, bee products, fresh fruit & vegetables, and numerous live stall demonstrations.

In addition to the main Community Stage, live music and performers will grace a second Lake Field Stage with an array of musical acts, the Magic Man, and even Sound Healings.

Gratitude to Our Supporters

Renee and the Whangamata Summer Festival Committee extend their heartfelt thanks to the festival’s sponsors and supporters: Trust Waikato, The Whangamata Club, Pub Charity, The Whangamata Community Board, Collins James Whangamata, and the Lion Foundation. Special thanks also go out to all Festival attendees, market stallholders, performers, Whangamata Area School, Bunnings, Tourism Coromandel, Coromind, and the Whangamata Surf Life Saving Club.

Please note that there is a 24/7 liquor ban in all public areas.
