Held on 1 August 2025, Whitianga
Our first Workshop was all about visibility and online presence — helping local artists take their mahi to a wider audience. We explored social media, website basics, photography tips, digital tools and how to stay true to your creative voice while promoting your work.
Led by the talented trio Emma Evangeline Gustafson, Laurie Steer and Ginney Deavoll, the session offered valuable insights into what platforms work best for different artists, and how to use them with purpose and authenticity.

📅 Upcoming Workshops
This is just the beginning.
Next up: Workshop 2 – Hands On, happening Friday 8 August at 4 PM
Email hello@coromind.nz to secure your spot
A practical session for artists ready to prepare their work for the world. We’ll discuss framing options (DIY and store-bought), the ins and outs of turning originals into prints, cards or merch, and how to decide on quantities, materials and pricing for reproductions.
The second workshop is led by Vaughan Grigsby, Emma Evangeline Gustafson and Ginney Deavoll.
Workshop 3 — The Business End
Friday 19 September, 4:00 PM
Let’s talk money. We’ll unpack commission structures, gallery agreements, pricing your work, and the admin side of being an artist — including whether to register for GST, and how to track your income as a creative.
Workshop 4 — Art & Wellbeing
Friday 26 September, 4:00 PM
To wrap it all up, this final session is an open kōrero focused on the wellbeing of artists. How do we stay inspired while navigating the pressure to earn, promote, and keep producing? We’ll bring together reflections and questions from earlier sessions to explore how we can care for ourselves — and each other — while doing what we love.
