Welcome to issue 26 of Coromind magazine!
Over the summer of December 2024 and January 2025, the Coromind ArtWorks Fest took place in Whitianga, marking a milestone for us as our first physical space.
One Wednesday afternoon, a 20-year-old visitor stepped into our creative space and exclaimed: “Wait, are you telling me that last night you had a grand harp on that stage, with kids and a dog running around, families chatting with the exhibiting artists, and people enjoying tacos and drinks? And this Saturday, there’s a Hip-Hop night in the same space? I never thought an art gallery could be like this!”
Coromind ArtWorks brought together more than 50 local artists for five collaborative art exhibitions and hosted thirteen days of live music, DJ sets, and more. By creating a welcoming and safe space where creatives felt at home, visitors were drawn in by that vibe and became part of the experience.
We understand the power of connection. Our art space welcomed locals, as well as national and international visitors, and the most common thing we heard was: “This is a great space.” And you know what? It was their presence that made it truly great.
