Coromind is back, shaking things up in the Hauraki-Coromandel! We celebrate art and its benefits every month, despite some who dare to say that the arts aren’t important in society and shouldn’t even be taught in schools. But we know better – they fear the revolutionary power of the arts.
As we grow and connect more deeply with our local artistic community, we meet people who have so much to say, and they express those words through beautiful artwork. Art is our outlet for mental health, the reason we keep going.
We all hear about the importance of socialising and exercising, and Coromind proudly brings these topics to our pages. But we especially love to highlight the importance of expressing ourselves artistically.
Whether it’s singing that tune out loud in your car, sketching during a work break, or building sandcastles with your little ones, in Coromind’s eyes, that’s art! The real art of living and enjoying the moment.
Don’t stop, and if you’re in a position to support a local artist – whether by giving them a koha when busking, liking their post on social media, or buying a print or original – do it!
Coromind takes pride in featuring incredible artists every month and sharing educational and entertaining stories. And guess what? Our wave is getting bigger. Our online numbers show that people from all over Aotearoa and the world are paying attention to our mahi. Of course, they are; we all love art, and art has no barriers. It’s universal. When you create art, you take a step towards a better world, and we appreciate that.
