My name is Laurie Spera Mango. I grew up in Avignon, France, where I studied Applied Arts and Packaging Design.
My name is Laurie Spera Mango. I grew up in Avignon, France, where I studied Applied Arts and Packaging Design.
What a journey it is, with so much to learn. I’ve always loved painting and drawing; in high school, it was my main focus.
My childhood laid the groundwork for where I’m at as an artist, as I often found myself either drawing, reading or constructing something while dealing with an on again/off again disability.
The Coromind crew visits Allan Beaver’s studio in Coromandel Town on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
After completing a Fine Arts degree from Oxford University, I then spent 40 years teaching art – firstly as a secondary school art teacher in the UK and then as Teacher in Charge of art in NZ.
