Since 2023, the market has defied expectations and is now established as one of Coromandel’s must-visit destinations. The market is primarily based on locally sourced produce and food, fresh organic veggies, berries, staples, delicatessen and artisan goods.
This January, the Whitianga Summer Art holiday programme offers two weeks of creativity, fun, and hands-on projects. Whether your child joins for a single day or several, each class promises a memorable experience and artwork to proudly take home.

At midday on Tuesday November 19th, over one hundred people from Mercury Bay and surrounds gathered at Taylors Mistake in Whitianga Town Centre in solidarity with Hikoi mō te Tiriti, as it arrived at Paremata (Parliament).
