I’m from Thames and started playing squash at 12, but before I started I grew a love for the sport because my parents have played for many years now.

I’m Kyla Wilson, a 17 year old girl from the Thames-Coromandel Coast. My interests are the outdoors and participating in different sports. My passion, however, lies with netball. Since I turned eight, I have been playing netball every year. My love for the game comes from many things: finding some of my best friends, staying fit, and the thrill of competition. During the last two seasons of high school netball, I have also been fortunate enough to be able to compete alongside my sister Nia as a defending duo.

I practised for AIMs games at my local gymnastics club – Thames Gymsports – and after competing against over 80 other girls with my coach Tash by my side, I placed 1st overall for WAG and got to bring home my first AIMs Games gold medal.

Coromind is experiencing tremendous growth in its short history. With two successful issues released, this March edition promises to be just as impressive.
The magazine’s success is a testament to our community’s talent and dedication. The people of Coromandel have come together to share their thoughts, artwork, and ideas, resulting in a publication that reflects the unique character of the region.
