On 17 June, Whenuakite School set off on an environmentally focused mission. Working with national native restoration organisation Trees for Survival, the group readied themselves to get dirty.
Johan found pleasure in small cruelties. While other boys played sports, he stalked the corners of the family property – the crumbling shed, the overgrown garden, the dusty basement – looking for spiders.
