Darby Tuhaka is an artist, advocate, activist, cultural preservationist and healer. His business, Healing Ink Studio, is a multi-faceted venture, home to tā moko (traditional tattoo), whakairo (carving) and rongoā (traditional medicine). It’s also what he calls “a destination for discarded taonga (treasures)”.

Toya is a versatile musician who regularly performs at various venues across the Hauraki-Coromandel region.

The Whangamata Summer Festival Committee is thrilled to announce the line-up of this year’s eagerly anticipated festival events, taking place just after Christmas. According to Renee Meiklejohn, the Festival Coordinator, the dedicated Festival Committee has been hard at work preparing an incredible program with a lineup of high-caliber musical talent.
