What an amazing week we have had on the Altbays show. Two fantastic guests have dropped by the Altbays studio for a kōrero. First we had Kieron Atkinson. Kieron is the Program and Music Director at CFM Coromandel’s Local Radio Station. Kieron grew up in Wales and Australia; he is a self-confessed radio nerd who spent much time as a young kid playing radio DJ in his bedroom to an audience of none. Kieron built that early passion into a long career as a radio presenter, music director and programmer, which cultivated a broad appreciation of music in general. Kieron loves what he does, pouring all his experience and knowledge into a local station that resonates with the community. It’s not really work… And next was Abilio Oliveira. Abilio is a technology enthusiast, Doctor of Philosophy, PhD student in neurocognitive science and, according to himself, a good songwriter and musician. With over 30 years of career, he was transferred from Brazil to New Zealand as an executive of the technology business unit at IBM Asia Pacific. Big believer in the Greek proverb “A Society grows great when old men plant trees, the shade which they know they will never sit in.”, Abilio is a book writer, an inventor with few patents under his name and digital influencer. He is an eternal dreamer of using technology to make our lives better.
