What are your family ties to Mercury Bay?
I, along with my sister and brother, attended Mercury Bay Area School (MBAS).
Where are you living now, and how long have you been there?
I’m currently living on the Gold Coast, Australia, and have been here for 13 months.
When did you live in Mercury Bay, and how many years were you at MBAS?
I lived in Mercury Bay until 2023 and attended MBAS from the age of 7 to 17.
What have you been up to since leaving school?
I’m a proud mother of two adult daughters. Over the years, I’ve been working, travelling, and coaching sports.
What is your proudest achievement?
Without a doubt, my two daughters. Beyond that, managing New Zealand hip-hop teams at the World Championships in Las Vegas for four years is another highlight. Our studio even won gold five times during those years!
Have you been back to Whitianga recently? What are your thoughts?
I always go back home and absolutely love it. Nothing compares to the beaches, the people, and the small-town vibe—it’s truly special.
What are your fondest memories of Mercury Bay?
The teachers, the friendships I made, and all the amazing sporting trips and camping adventures. MBAS offered so much more than schools in the city ever could.
Who were some of your close friends during those early years?
Suzy Hard, Aimee Bainbridge, Abby Lawrence, Amanda Beamish, and Sarah Moses. To this day, we’re all still great mates.
