My name is Ashley Thor, and I’m a ceramic artist.
I honed my skills at Driving Creek Railway in Coromandel Town, where I developed a deeper connection to the art of ceramics. One of my proudest achievements is creating a giant chess set, which was acquired by the Waikato Museum.
Under the guidance of Barry Brickell, I learned to “listen” to the clay, understanding its texture and properties to bring out its potential.
After a long hiatus, I’m rediscovering my passion for ceramics and exploring new ways to express myself through this timeless medium.
