The White House Gallery in Coroglen

Paula McNeill Welcomes You to a World of Art, Treasures and Garden Views

The White House is a welcoming home and gallery in Coroglen, created by artist Paula McNeill and her late husband, Don. After purchasing the property 21 years ago, they began shaping it into the gallery visitors see today: a place to enjoy an eclectic collection of fine art and collectables, along with creative gardens and views across the valley and estuary.

The gallery has earned praise from visitors near and far, offering a relaxed space to browse, take in the surroundings and discover something unexpected.

Meet your host, Paula McNeill

An award-winning mixed-media artist, Paula creates vibrant, layered works that invite curiosity, reflection and wonder. Since moving from Pumpkin Hill in Tairua to establish The White House and her studio at Coroglen, she has continued to explore ideas through colour, texture and form.

Her work draws on life, nature and people, blending traditional methods with experimental materials. For Paula, art is about following the creative path wherever it leads – and trusting that each step may reveal something extraordinary.

Art, artists and collectables

The gallery focuses on contemporary art, from abstraction to postmodernism, and supports a growing community of local artists. Its featured artists include Peter Augustin, Susan Dunster, Jane Parson, Jan Illingsworth, Kay de Blaauw, Peter Muller, Aviva Clark, Kate Hill, Jane Galloway, Verena Tagmann, Dave Fowell, Vanessa McKay, Logan Humphrey, Gary Nevin, Marion Manson and Sally Samins.

Alongside paintings and sculpture, visitors can browse glassware, pottery, mid-century furniture, modern pieces and intriguing finds from around the world. Aladdin’s Cave adds another layer of discovery, with nostalgic treasures that invite visitors to linger.
