Afternoon has rushed into evening
Showery rain has stolen the light
Too early for wine
Time slows down
I have to think – what is this?
What is this?…slight alarm
That ageing is stealing the sun
Before my eyes, everything has slowed
Bent, bowed, harder to reach
The fruits of each day
Unless we kneel in gratitude
Thing can easily turn grey and dreary
Crumbled relics of relationships
Scattered around us difficult to navigate
We are ghosts in our own landscape
Looking for the life force
That fizzed our younger times
I see the sun in your eyes
Warmth in your hands
Music in your heart
Once broken – hidden away
Melancholy carries like a breeze between us
I have to think – what is this?
Music begins as thought gives way
Words come out, ready to go –
Heading to…….is it still too early for wine?

while flying around.
As birds
with wings,
swinging
in wind,
singing a song

anchored…
within turning tides.
Sky.
laid down,
soaked…
through gritty puddles.
