A Thousand Years of Stories
They say a journey takes a thousand steps … ours took about 1000 years!!!
And so our journey has now been laid out in a new exhibition installed at the Mercury Bay Museum in Whitianga, named ‘Shaping Te Whanganui o Hei – People, Place & Time’.
The fundraiser screening is being sponsored and hosted in collaboration with All About Whitianga and Mercury Twin Cinemas with proceeds from ticket sales and raffles to go directly to the local Hato Hone St John Whitianga team, who have already attended to 795 callouts this year.
Coromandel residents have been standing up and protecting the Coromandel from mining for over 40 years.
In this day and age, people are misled about mining, thinking that there are rules now that make mining non-toxic and sustainable and that it’s for the welfare of the people with jobs, etc.

The undersigned residents of the Hauraki rohe and the Thames-Coromandel community, call on the Thames-Coromandel District Council and the Waikato Regional Council to pass the following motion:
A CALL FOR AN IMMEDIATE AND PERMANENT CEASEFIRE IN GAZA

In the planning for our annual Anzac exhibition, we came across three photos of soldiers posing in their World War I uniforms. These photos made us ponder – who are the men in the photos?
