Waihi Beach artist Graham Young has enjoyed a long career as an oil painter, establishing a reputation for creating realistic paintings that capture his love for the familiar yet often overlooked places that surround us in our everyday lives.
Coromind is proud to feature two incredible young dancers from our region! Blake Gifford-Hill from Whitianga and Fern Paki from Thames are making waves in the dance world, and we’re here to celebrate their talent and dedication. Dance offers so much more than just movement – it helps children develop creativity, confidence and coordination, all while fostering discipline and teamwork. Blake and Fern are shining examples of how the arts can shape a child’s growth!
When I visited Lutzotto’s studio for the first time, I came across something pleasing for a Virgo punk rocker: organised chaos. A small house/art studio smartly positioned and built with recycled and reused materials in one of the most special places in the Coromandel region: the Blue Fridge Valley.
I paint because it brings me happiness, fulfilment and allows me to share the messages I have for the world in the most authentic way possible. Also, because I don’t know how not to. When I haven’t painted for a while I feel like there’s a big storm cloud brewing behind me full of ideas, adding up and threatening to push me over.
