The Day Amelia Met Olympic Star Lisa Carrington in Whitianga
Amelia was one of the lucky children who got to meet Lisa Carrington during her trip to Whitianga. Thanks to Ron Morgan for bringing such a star to our town. Lisa is definitely a massive inspiration for our tamariki.
Why did I do that? Have you ever asked yourself that question? Then, it’s quickly brushed off, only to find yourself in the same situation and that same query on repeat. And so the loop continues.
What if the next time you asked the question, you really asked; then took the time to answer it, to decide what’s next?
Coromind is proud to feature two incredible young dancers from our region! Blake Gifford-Hill from Whitianga and Fern Paki from Thames are making waves in the dance world, and we’re here to celebrate their talent and dedication. Dance offers so much more than just movement – it helps children develop creativity, confidence and coordination, all while fostering discipline and teamwork. Blake and Fern are shining examples of how the arts can shape a child’s growth!
I sit down to write this with a song stuck in my head …I’m not entirely sure whose version of the song, penned by Marvin Gaye and Kim Weston, it is that’s on repeat in my brain, but you know the one.
Prisoners of War love playing live music. Live music is a really important aspect of how we share our creativity, and it always ends up being super fun for everyone. So, for these reasons, we are always super keen to play more shows in front of more and more people, branching out to different areas such as Hamilton and Tauranga to get different audiences.
